St Kilda Rotary
Over the years members of St Kilda Rotary have spent a lot of time in the playground… the one at the Hub specifically.
They’ve provided a cover for the sandpit, as well as new clean sand; they’ve repainted the play equipment to keep it looking fresh and bright; they’ve replenished the woodchips under the play equipment to keep our kids safe.
Outdoor play is really important for children’s healthy growth and development … and it’s FUN.
So thanks St Kilda Rotary for making the Hub playground such a great place to play!
Shoe Clinic
Twice a year Shoe Clinic gives away shoes… to us! Inevitably, during the year they have shoes returned for whatever reason. Those shoes, they give to us. Those shoes make life easier for young people at Next Steps Training, for parents who visit the Hub, and from next year, for young people in our YTH Ōtepoti.
Who knew what shoes could do? Shoe Clinic did.
Thanks Shoe Clinic, you make walking a mile in someone else’s shoes so much better!
Peninsula Bays Women’s Institute and Methodist Women's Fellowship
Knitting booties and hats is really rewarding … they’re quick to make, and the ladies from Peninsula Bays Women’s Institute know their knitting goes to good homes. Their knitted goodies are bundled up by the Methodist Women’s fellowship with other treats – little bottles of baby wash, washcloths, and a handy reminder magnet for the Hub, and then those bundles are distributed through the Hub to new mums.
Thank you ladies – Peninsula Bays Women’s Institute and Methodist Women’s fellowship – knitted warmth goes a long way when it comes with love.
Bedpost
We knew that having a brand new bed would be a lovely thing for young people who most recently have had no bed – we wanted to make them feel valued, cared for.
When Alan and Denise from Bedpost Dunedin heard that we were needing king single beds, they were happy to help… making those new beds much more affordable.
So thank you Alan and Denise and Bedpost Dunedin; your support for this community project is hugely appreciated!
